For a while now, we've been quietly building, developing, and growing behind the scenes. Today, we're excited to introduce you to Tactus AI.

The laboratory industry is currently facing a perfect storm: skyrocketing test volumes, increasing test complexity, and a critical shortage of the skilled workers and resources needed to keep up. It's a real problem, and it requires a real solution.

At Tactus AI, we are building autonomous lab assistants: embodied AI purpose-built for healthcare and pharmaceutical laboratories. Our mission: to bring intelligent, adaptive automation to every lab, supporting scientists by accelerating scientific discovery and transforming how the world's diagnostic and research happens.

We're not just building automation: we're building what we spent our careers wishing existed.

Tactus AI was founded by Claire Weston, PhD (CEO) and Casey Laris (CTO): entrepreneurs with a shared track record in AI-powered healthcare. Together they built and exited an AI-powered diagnostics company, combining deep expertise in biology, AI systems, and laboratory operations. They've been on both sides: building the technology and running the labs it serves.

We are thrilled to announce that Michael Quick has officially joined Tactus AI as our Chief Commercial Officer! Michael led the development of the Genius Digital Diagnostics platform at Hologic: the first and only FDA-cleared AI-powered digital cytology system, from inception through De Novo FDA clearance. At Hologic he also held leadership roles in Business Development and International Market Development. Michael led and scaled laboratory operations at Biotheranostics and is a Past President of the Digital Pathology Association (DPA). He has shipped real AI products at scale in exactly this space, and we couldn't be more excited to have him leading our commercial strategy.
